The Magic Window
There's a reason photographers call it golden hour — not because it's trendy, but because the physics of light at that angle transforms everything it touches.
When I step out with my camera during those final minutes of daylight, I'm not chasing a filter. I'm chasing truth. Skin tones soften. Shadows lengthen with intention. The world briefly agrees to be photographed.
Three things I always do:
- Arrive early — scout the scene while light is still climbing
- Shoot wide, then tight — establish context before isolating detail
- Stay after the sun drops — the blue hour holds its own secrets
